Mountainside 03:40
Sitting on the mountainside watching all my friends go by. A million miles high, I can’t find my way down. I’d grab the first plane I saw if I was allowed. Skinny I am, but I’ve become too weighed down. I’ve shaved my head, trying to shed, All the ties with the people who care. I’ve lost my job and I have lost myself too. There’s a wolf at my window and he’s watching my every move. I’m petrified, I’m scared, I don’t think I can move. So I sleep at light and at night stay awake in this room. I’ve sold my things, for needles and pins, to escape from it all. Well I don’t know when I’ll come back home. Sitting on the mountainside, all my friends have now gone away. Got a job, made flight but here I stay. I waited for something, someone to show me the way. But I’ve laid down and I won’t change. A poison called, I inhale it all and I’m sick to death of it all. Soon I’ll be back home.

Biscuit Tin 02:50
There’s a young man in my heart, oh in my heart, A young man in mind. I used to know him well, all those years ago, I wonder can you tell? Bright red curly hair and the freckles on his cheeks. Played his biscuit tin marching down the street. I used to know him well, know him, know him. A few years later now, He met that girl with the almost black hair. And those were the days, he took her everywhere, And it still feels the same. Hair behind her ear and a flower in her teeth. He would stare at her in total disbelief. He used to love her well, love her, love her. A young man in my heart, in my heart, a young man in mind.

What I Need 02:48
It’s not about you it’s about me. It’s not about you it’s about me. And It’s not about what you want, No, It’s about what I need. And I won’t lay down on the floor and feel so poorly. And you can say just what you want and I will still be happy. And I will fill my cup, no I won’t mind, I’ll be blind. And I will be true, I won’t feel blue, and I can still love you. It’s not about you it’s about me. It’s not about you it’s about me. And It’s not about what you want, No, It’s about what I need.

Well I met you in early April. You knocked on my front door with all your friends. Sipp’n’ tea and sitting on my bedroom floor, I’d never seen a boy like you and I say... And you’d been swimming in the sea, And now you’re washed up next to me. I didn’t think that you would stay very long, Oh how I was wrong. I’m glad I found your face. I’m glad I found your face. I’m glad I found your face again. I’m glad I found you. And the headlights shone, As I drove her up the road from Wollongong. And it all became quite clear, As the light fell away from view my dear. And her brown eyes staring back at me, As we danced in the street. Under a streetlight, on our stage, I saw her face. I’m glad I found your face. I’m glad I found your face. I’m glad I found your face again. I’m glad I found you.

Montreux 03:57
I’ll be a dog without a bone, If I keep on goin’ on way I’m goin’ on. All I know, It’s time to turn back I’ll be goin’ home. He holds a book to his face, And how his hair’s grown so darn long. Oh how we’ve grown, Would you know us if we ever came… Home. Let me show you I won’t fold. Home. ‘Cause you are mine and I am yours to hold. And you might see us in Montreux. My case is open and I’m forever hoping, That some change might come our way. I’m counting coins now. Here all the numbers they look so strange, But with grace, I’ll be movin’... On. Let me show you I won’t fold. Home. ‘Cause you are mine and I am yours to hold.

I screamed a word far out at sea, Just to see if you could hear me. And then I jumped in and I swam to, The bottom of the sea and waited there for you to find me. And I painted colours in the sky. It took me days on end. And then I lay down, waited there for you, To show you what I did, to show you what I did. And I met the right person at the wrong time. I waited for my planets to align, So I could sing ‘Across the Universe’ to you, And you would be mine. I’ll take you back to childhood, To dance beneath parachutes. Forget what’s outside, we’ll look at the sun shine, Only clouds will pass us by, the clouds will pass us by.

about

Burralow's debut EP recorded over 2017-18.

The EP began afterhours in the basement of the Petersham Bowling Club, jostling ideas onto an old 4-track with friend Nic, before it found its way to Tim Kevin’s Tempe River Studios. Here, the collection of works and offerings evolved, combining folk instruments with rock & pop, drawing on artists from The Beatles to Cat Power in what has become a true alt-folk release.

about

Burralow Sydney, Australia

Burralow is an indie folk outfit fronted by two hopeless-romantic songwriters. Together they have penned and orchestrated a collection of stories from living on the road and around the Blue Mountains. The band’s timbre teeters between acoustic and electric as they swap and blend traditional folk with pop instruments throughout their set.

'Burralow' is the band's debut EP.
